Last time I left you with some background and a track list on the new album. This time I want to talk about the objectives behind the album.

If I had to pick one thing that being in software business has taught me, it has to be the fact that you can’t start a project without having clear objectives in mind. Anything that wasn’t thought about comes back to haunt and cost a lot of dollars.

I guess the same applies to musical projects too. Yet in these stages of the scene(or industry) making consistent releases is a must.

I find it very hard to connect with musical forms that have no melody to offer or those that are too dissonant. For me, the music must have a clear motif and yet there should be enough variation to keep the listener guessing and coming back for repeat listening.

Anubhav Hello Everyone! My name is Anubhav. I am the Keyboard Player and Vocalist for Acrid Semblance.

Its an exciting time for us as we have now reached a point where we know how the album has started to feel. And going forward there are going to be decisions made regarding finalizing arrangements, tightening up those few parts and most importantly: The Production and release. We'd like you to be a part of all of this and hence want to start sharing what's going to happen.

Before I share with you what this thing is all about, I'd like to give you some background.

We started working on the album last year late November(2009). I took about 15 days to come up with basic structures of 9 complete tracks I have written on the album. I was listening to a lot of In Flames, Death, Soilwork, Avantasia, Helloween, Sonata Arctica and the countless classical pieces.

Once I had the basic structures down on my favorite DAW Vikas, Vaibhav, Cj and Tushar were called in to do their magic on the tracks.

After about a few months of this exercise, we had what we called Pre-production demos in late March. We started connecting with the new songs and could now see ourselves playing these live by the end of June.

We started recording the production level guitar and bass parts. We also called our secret designer to do artwork for us and he got some really cool concept sketches in the next 4-5 days.

It looked like the album would be complete in not more than 2 months.

BUT! Life hardly works that way.

Vikas chose to play with Prestorika(that had become his primary commitment at that time) and short after Tushar also felt the need to expand his musical horizons.
